Introducing the Advanced Cardiovascular HEALTH Program
For nearly two decades, our Core HEALTH & Wellness Program has been built on one simple principle: preventing disease is far better than treating it after it develops.
This preventive health program is designed to look deeply into aspects of physical, mental, metabolic, and functional health. Our Core HEALTH Program has been successful in identifying hidden health risks, helping patients maintain vitality and function over their lifetime.
For patients who desire an even more comprehensive understanding of their cardiovascular health and future risk, we are pleased to introduce the new Advanced Cardiovascular HEALTH Program.
This includes the Core HEALTH Program, our enhanced cardiovascular assessment, and the new HEALTH Score. This Score is a physician-designed assessment built from more than 30 medical, laboratory, and functional health measures to objectively evaluate overall health and estimate physiologic (HEALTH) age. The HEALTH Score is an objective measure of total health, allowing for serial measurements to track changes in health over time. We are pleased to introduce this new option for an even deeper, proactive and measurable health assessment to support your longevity.
FAQ:
What is the Advanced Cardiovascular HEALTH Program?
The Advanced Cardiovascular Program includes all the components of the Core HEALTH & Wellness Program with the addition of:
- Coronary Artery Calcium score every 3 years
- Heart Function (Ejection Fraction) by ultrasound
- Overnight cardiopulmonary monitoring
- Advanced lipid testing including NMR lipoprotein testing, APO B, metabolic stress markers
- HEALTH Score
- HEALTH age
- Statistical heart risk calculation
- Longitudinal tracking over time
- Physician-directed individualized Prevention Plan
What is the HEALTH Score?
The HEALTH Score is a comprehensive, physician designed assessment to objectively evaluate your overall health status and estimate your HEALTH age.
It is based on over 30 key health measures, using information gathered from:
- Laboratory testing
- Findings from your physical examination
- Results of your testing
- Questionnaires and surveys
These data points are weighted based on clinical importance and generate a HEALTH Score reflecting major domains of health, including:
- Cardiovascular function and health
- Cognitive, Mental and Neurologic health
- Lifestyle and Nutritional health
- Fitness and Body Metrics
- Biochemical and Metabolic health
Why Is the HEALTH Score important?
Unlike traditional medical testing that evaluates one condition at a time, the HEALTH Score integrates more than 30 clinical, laboratory, and functional health measures into a single objective assessment. By tracking your score and HEALTH Age annually, we can identify trends, measure improvement, and personalize recommendations to help maintain long-term health and vitality.
What is the HEALTH Age?
HEALTH Age is an estimate of your physiologic age derived from your HEALTH Score. It compares how your body is functioning today with your actual chronological age, providing an objective way to measure health and monitor progress over time.
Does the Advanced Cardiovascular HEALTH Program replace the Core HEALTH & Wellness Program?
No. The Advanced Cardiovascular HEALTH Program does not replace the annual Core HEALTH & Wellness Program. The Core Program remains the foundation of your preventive care. Our commitment to the highest standards of care remains.
Those who choose the Advanced Cardiovascular HEALTH Program receive it in addition to the Core HEALTH Program, allowing for a deeper cardiovascular prevention and risk assessment. Having an annual HEALTH Score and estimated HEALTH Age allows us to track your trends and progress from year to year.
Who would most benefit from the Advanced Cardiovascular HEALTH Program?
The Advanced Cardiovascular HEALTH Program is designed for individuals who want the most comprehensive understanding of their cardiovascular health before symptoms develop. It is particularly valuable for those with cardiovascular risk factors, a family history of heart disease, or a desire to maximize long-term health and longevity. Through earlier detection, objective measurements, and individualized prevention strategies, the program helps identify opportunities to reduce risk while preserving health, function, and quality of life.
The goal is to identify risk early, intervene intelligently and preserve health and function over your lifetime. The HEALTH Score is used to calculate an estimated HEALTH Age. This comparison between HEALTH Age and chronologic age is measurable, reproducible assessment of your current health and over time reveals trends.
Is there an additional Program Investment for the Advanced Cardiovascular HEALTH Program?
Yes. Please call for various program rates.
How do I arrange to have this evaluation?
Simply call 843.766.8220 and ask for the ACVH Program Agreement and to be scheduled for the new Advanced Cardiovascular HEALTH Program. If you have an upcoming Core HEALTH program you can keep the same appointment. Plan for a somewhat lengthier appointment time to account for the additional testing.
A Deeper Look at Your Cardiovascular Health
Cardiovascular disease often develops silently for years before symptoms appear. The Advanced Cardiovascular HEALTH (ACvH) Program builds upon our Core HEALTH Program with a more detailed assessment of cardiovascular risk, heart function, metabolism, and other factors that may influence long-term cardiovascular health..
Our goal is simple: identify warning signs earlier, understand risk more completely, and intervene more effectively.
Going Beyond the Traditional Cardiovascular Assessment
The ACvH Program adds an advanced cardiovascular evaluation to the comprehensive foundation of your Core HEALTH Program.
Advanced Laboratory Testing
A more detailed evaluation of cardiovascular and metabolic risk, including advanced lipid testing and selected biomarkers that may provide information beyond a standard lipid profile.
Coronary Artery Calcium
A coronary artery calcium (CAC) scan, generally performed every three years when appropriate, helps identify and quantify calcified coronary atherosclerosis before it produces symptoms.
Heart Function
An annual focused ultrasound assessment provides additional information about cardiac function, including assessment of left ventricular ejection fraction.
Overnight Heart Rate & Oxygen
Overnight monitoring evaluates heart rate and oxygen saturation during sleep and may identify patterns warranting further evaluation.
