The 2015 WMI Walk for Water

Water is essential for life. HEALTH and Wellness is dependent on clean water. Without it we wither and fade quickly. By its properties of hydration our bodies are able to maintain normal cellular function and eliminate waste. Through its use we are able to wash and be clean. With it we can cook our food. However, water can also transmit disease if it is unclean. Water can be the harbinger of bacteria like Pseudomonas and cholera, parasites, and other pathogens. The 2015 Walk for Water brought awareness throughout the United States to the dangers of unclean water in developing countries. Many women and children are forced to walk miles each day to fetch water from unclean water sources. Our friends at Water Missions International (WMI) continue to develop water purification systems that are deployed throughout the world in order to provide clean water for those in need.

Walk for Water

We will sponsor the Walk for Water again in 2016 with the hope of raising more awareness and more money to sponsor water purification. This year we raised a little over $1500. With more friends participating in the Walk for Water, which represents the walk that many in third world countries have to make on a daily basis to fetch water, we can impact the world in a positive way. Thanks to those of you who walk with our team, WaterWorks. I hope to see you again next year.
